Meet Paraben's Trainers
Kevin Martin Kevin Martin is a sixteen year veteran of California Law Enforcement. His wide range of experience and expertise range from his service as a Patrol Officer, Bicycle Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Narcotics Canine Handler, Narcotics Detective, Property Crimes Detective and Hi-tech Crimes Investigator/ Computer Forensic examiner. In his time with law enforcement he created the hi-tech crimes section of the Santa Maria Police Department where he served for over five years working cases from hard drives to cell phones. Mr. Martin is a court recognized expert in Digital Evidence with the Santa Barbara County Superior Courts in California. Mr. Martin also served in the United States Air Force during the first Gulf War. Mr. Martin takes pride in his efforts to educate the public on the dangers associated with the internet and volunteers his time in this area. Amber Schroader Amber Schroader has developed and taught numerous courses for the computer forensic arena. Ms Schroader has been invited to lecture at some of the largest computer forensic conferences. She has also been key in developing new technology to help investigators in the field. With over ten years experience in computer forensic software and in training federal, state, local, and corporate investigators, Ms Schroader continues to bring new and exciting technology to the computer forensic community world wide. Ms. Schroader is currently the director of forensics and new software development at Paraben Corporation. Ms Schroader was instrumental in the development of Paraben's first forensic tool, PDA Seizure, and continues with plans for numerous other forensic tools. Ms Schroader is involved in many different computer investigation organizations including HTCIA, HTCN, and IACP. She also supports other organizations such as IACIS and FLETC. Ms Schroader has strong dedication to the computer forensic field as seen in her teaching and in the software she develops and supports. Nick Holicky Nicholas Holicky has years of military experience serving proudly in both Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as Operation Enduring Freedom. While with the military, he served as a tactical trainer working with his crew to better the goals of the mission. Mr. Holicky has been involved with technology for over 6 years and continues to be an asset with inventive new ideas and techniques to teach and learn new concepts. Samuel Norris Samuel Norris has more than 30 years experience in the Information Technology industry, with most of that time spent in some security or investigative capacity. From 2004 until 2008, Samuel taught basic forensics, first-responder training, email forensics, and ILook forensic tool usage for the National White Collar Crime Center. From 1998 until 2004, he taught technical subjects at the post-secondary level, focusing on hardware, legacy operating systems and, more recently, computer forensics. Prior to that, he was the MIS Director and Chief of Telecommunications Security for a CLEC. In this second capacity, he conducted numerous investigations, both internal and external. During this same period, he worked with a private Investigator, specializing in computer-related investigations. In 1988 - 1989, he was lead security analyst for a DOD contractor, working on security projects for the Department of the Navy. Samuel joined Paraben Corporation in 2008 to create and teach training curricula for the company's new technology - P2 Commander - and has become a driving force with the training of this new approach to hard drive and media forensics. Richard Lee Richard Lee is a GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst, and a certified examiner in Paraben's P2 Suite, Paraben's Device Seizure, and EnCase. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for twenty-five years, and was a significant member of the Regina Integrated Technological Crime Unit (RITCU), having formed the unit, and serving as NCO. He initiated the first Tech Crime Auxiliary Constable program within the RCMP. Currently, Richard is a principal partner of C.S.I Services, and a Systems Security Director at SaskTel, responsible for the management of the company's information systems security program across all networking, computing and switching platforms. Richard has extensive knowledge of information systems and networks security and investigation, having had significant training and membership in several prominent institutions in the field. He has qualified as an expert witness in computer forensics both in the Saskatchewan Provincial Court and the Court of Queen's Bench, and having appeared on many significant local and global news broadcasts and been published in prominent newspapers and magazine articles. He has conducted several security reviews of numerous systems, including SaskTel's wide area network. Currently, Richard is a member of the Computer Security Institute, the SANS Institute, the local HTCIA chapter, Canadian Information Processing Society, the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace, and the High Tech Crime Consortium. Donald Burlack – CISSP, CISM, CEH, CEI Donald Burlack is a professional information systems security practitioner and computer forensics investigator with over 28 years of experience in the information technology and telecommunications industries. He has served 17 years as Senior Systems Security Director at SaskTel and as Auxiliary Constable within the Technological Crimes Section of the RCMP. He has presented computer evidence in both civil and criminal judicial proceedings in Canada and the United States. He has authored several articles and presented on information security and computer forensics at numerous occasions/locations including SANS Institute, IBM Tivoli, TV talk shows, and professional organizations. Donald is currently president of C.S.I. Services Inc, a course developer & instructor at Paraben Corp and an EC-Council certified instructor. His current memberships include Computer Security Institute, HTCIA, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Marty Musters – B.Math, CISSP, CFE, CISA, PI Marty Musters is the Director of Forensics with NCI. Marty graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1979 with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Marty has been in the Information systems field for over 28 years. Prior to joining NCI Marty was responsible for the network security and electronic investigations for a large nuclear power facility. Marty has done forensic investigations involving homicides, extortions, frauds and sexual assaults. He has spoken at numerous conferences and has published many articles on digital forensics. Marty is a member of ASIS as well as the HTCIA (Ontario Chapter). |
